Cuddly Carnage
Of all the genres available for both the PC and console systems, it seems some genres only have stayed on one platform or the other. Games that are inherently PC based, mainly because of their complexity and need for a lot of buttons, such as sims, real-time strategy, deep role playing (Baldur's Gate style) don't seem that desirable to move to console. True, it is partly because the market in both industries is quite different, but it's probably fueled more by the lack of fun it would be to attempt to control a jet fighter with only eight buttons. Games that have stuck to console seemingly have no rhyme or reason.
One of these lone genres is the 3D platform game. Platforms have been a console staple since the dawn of gaming, as far back as Mario Bros. and even earlier. But very few of them have come to the PC, with the exception of Duke Nukem, and some bargain-bin games. Fur Fighters is really the first game to come along and challenge the myth that jumpers just don't work on the PC.
