Quality: The Final Frontier
As we know all too well, the Star Trek franchise has had a terrible tendency to produce a quality gaming experience. Nobody quite knows why a successful universe just can't seem to get many good titles out, but there have been few truly good games. Among them were Klingon Academy and Starfleet Command. It seems as though 14 Degrees East has been the only company to develop a successful Star Trek game, though even they have had numerous flaws and bugs.

From the erratic, non-existant storyline and mission objectives in Starfleet Command, to the forever crashing, freezing, glitching, and stuttering Klingon Academy, even the 14 East games, who showed so much promise, managed to be a bit disappointing until a patch or three. 14 East's latest attempt to go where no one has gone before is New Worlds. Another player in the over-crowded Real Time Strategy genre, it's amazing there is still room on the shelves for any other genre. But can another RTS survive the masses, especially one that is bound to bear the curse of the Star Trek label?
