Bellevue, WA (July 20, 2000) -- Sierra Studios(tm) announced today a
special pre-sell incentive deal with national retailer, Electronics
Boutique. For fans of last year's PC Game of the Year Homeworld(r),
comes Raider Retreat, the lost Homeworld mission, developed by Relic
Entertainment. Raider Retreat will be available to consumers who
pre-order the stand-alone next installment to the break-out series
called Homeworld: Cataclysm, due in stores this fall through the
national retail chain or on their website, www.ebworld.com.
This new demo CD includes the original training mission, the first four
Homeworld missions, and a special fifth mission that has never been
released to the public, called "Raider Retreat." This lost mission was
fully developed and tested but never included in the full version of
Homeworld.
The demo has full multiplayer LAN game capabilities with all original
ships available as well as a multiplayer skirmish game (played against a CPU
player). In the new mission, gamers enter Turanic Raider space and eliminate
the Turanic Raider pirate threat in a race against time.
Homeworld: Cataclysm, developed by Barking Dog Studios, extends
Homeworld's revolutionary gameplay with entirely new fleets of ships,
each with the ability to upgrade their capabilities, new research,
fog-of-war, interface enhancements, mothership modules, damage control
and way points. Homeworld: Cataclysm continues the saga from the original
Homeworld game and introduces a new threat from a techno-organic entity
known as "The Beast." In addition to seventeen new single player missions,
Homeworld: Cataclysm will feature an improved multiplayer mode that allows
for multiplayer games of up to eight players via Sierra.com, powered by
Flipside.com, along with support for Sierra.com's enhanced ladder ranking
system. The official Web site can be found at
